For those currently unsure of which is the best credit card for them, it is important to choose what the most important feature of the card is. If it is balance transfer rates, then there are a number of credit card offers to choose from.

The St George Vertigo MasterCard offers zero per cent balance transfers for up to six months and gives users a 55-day interest-free period on all goods purchased with the credit card.

Awarded Australia's cheapest card by Money Magazine in early 2008, the $45 annual fee brings with it an array of rewards.

A statement on MasterCard's website reads: "No waiting, fees, or accumulating points - simply use your St George Credit Card and choose from a wide range of offers including entertainment, leisure experiences, shopping, travel, wine and magazine subscriptions."

The HSBC Low Interest Rate Credit Card also offers zero per cent on balance transfers but until October 1st, 2008.

A 55-day interest-free period on any purchases made is also included, while customers looking at credit card offers may like to know that repayments can be made at any HSBC branch, by mail, BPAY, telephone, direct debit, online or at Australia Post.

Meanwhile, the Aussie MasterCard also offers the same zero per cent on balance transfers for the first six months, while charging a competitive rate of 11.99 per cent interest on all purchases.

The Aussie MasterCard allows users to have a 55-day interest-free period on all goods purchased and doe not require an annual fee.
