With many businesses and insurance companies setting up on the internet, it can be hard to differentiate the good from the bad. With no physical branches to pop into to, many consumers find choosing online insurance providers a tricky experience.
However, 1Cover Insurance has made its name throughout Australia for providing competitive insurance cover at cheap prices.
The Australian division of 1Cover Insurance is part of a larger group, which operates in the UK, New Zealand and the Irish Republic. It holds policies with over one million customers across its international divisions.
Based in New South Wales, travel insurance policies taken out by customers through 1Cover.com.au are underwritten by two larger firms - Allianz and Mondial Assisstance. Through those companies, customers can get access to 24-hour emergency cover when travelling overseas as well as a wide range of possible policies.
With regards to home insurance and car insurance policies taken out by customers through 1Cover, the company works with Insurers Hotline and Auto & General Insurance - an insurer which administers over two million policies worldwide as well as $1 billion worth of insurance premiums.
A statement on its website reads: "By operating online we are able to minimise unnecessary overheads whilst retaining the security and dependability of an international blue chip company by underwriting with companies including Allianz and Auto & General Insurance."
